SPRING RIVER - 1952 Warren Deck Truss

JP#: 24272(04)

This Warren deck truss bridge, built in 1952, was constructed by J. A. Raines of Muskogee, Oklahoma.  The bridge has six spans and totals 630 ft.  A deck truss bridge is unique in that it supports the bridge from underneath instead of the more common overhead support system in truss bridges.  This is one of only five remaining deck truss bridges in the state.  The bridge is eligible for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places.

Location: On State Highway 10 over the Spring River, near Miami.
