Oklahoma Historic Bridge Update for Metal Truss, Masonry Arch, and
Concrete Arch Bridges Constructed through 1980 (january 2021)
In 2021, ODOT completed an update and evaluation of all remaining truss and arch bridges in Oklahoma. Twenty-one of the 348 remaining bridges evaluated were previously listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The study found 164 bridges eligible for the NRHP. Of those 164 bridges, eleven were found eligible under Criterion A only, 99 under Criterion C only, and 54 under both Criteria A and C. The remaining 163 bridges were determined not eligible for the NRHP.
The report provides a historic context and a list of all 348 bridges and their National Register evaluation.

Oklahoma Historic Bridge Survey: Reevaluation of Spans of Time (May 2007)
**document outdated and no longer in use
ODOT-CRP staff members re-visited the bridges documented in the previous survey and updated the survey's findings. The survey limited its investigation to metal truss, stone arch, and concrete arch bridges, as the original survey did, with the goal of re-evaluating their National Register-eligibility. The survey documented 1,061 bridges and resulted in 213 bridges determined eligible for the NRHP. These 213 bridges are a combination of NRHP-eligible bridges documented in the previous survey that remain standing, bridges re-assessed as NRHP-eligible based on the current survey findings, and bridges that the Oklahoma SHPO has designated as NRHP-eligible apart from our survey work. County maps showing the locations of these bridges can be found here.
Oklahoma Historic Bridge Survey: Spans of Time (June 1993)
**Document available upon request
The contents of Spans of Time represents the status of Oklahoma's historic metal truss, stone arch, and concrete arch bridges as of 1993. Some of the bridges identified as historic in this report may no longer be eligible for the NRHP or may no longer exist. Other bridges identified in this report as not eligible for the NRHP may have been determined eligible for a variety of reasons since the completion of this study. This report does not reflect these changes.
